Their beautiful founder reached out to me for help finding a companion for Julian their ring tailed lemur. As I’ve explained previously in a lot of posts and videos Lemurs are extremely social animals and having them live alone is very detrimental to they’re mental state. Luckily Julian had some other friends to socialize with but not a Lemur and having that special bond is key to a happy life for them. I made this decision based on what was best for everyone in the situation. Nigel being young and sociable made it perfect for him to warm up to all of the volunteers and Julian which he is opening up so much already! This was by far one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make because we adore Nigel and love him so much but i think I’m being an outdoor lemur with his new friend was the best thing for him. Not to mention me knowing Julian has been living alone broke my heart so i thought this was the best choice for everyone. Especially because we adore kris and the amazing work she does at care foundation. After crying my way up to deliver this bundle of joy and seeing him happy as can be the day after i knew this was where he was meant to be. He’s been social with all of the volunteers and Kris which is pretty incredible considering with us he was not much of a human kind of Lemur. I believe this situation suits his needs so much better and i honestly think he needed a calmer environment without having to hear my kids fight all the time 😂 we will continue to share videos of Nigel’s progress with care foundation and hopefully get a beautiful video of him being integrated in with Julian his life long companion.
